What’s a Website Cost?

There are many factors that make up the cost of websites. Among other things, a huge impact on a total price has graphic design and website’s functionality. Other necessary spending are domain name and web hosting.

Talking about standard websites and content management systems for small businesses, you should pay something between £150 and £750 in total (depending on your web design and functionality requirements). In fact, you can have a professional website for about £75 by doing some of the works yourself.

So let’s take a look at the 3 examples of different cost levels for a website in relation to its functionality, graphic design and an amount of your independent work.

Do It Yourself –The Cheapest Way to Create a Website

Cost: about £75

In order to cut the cost so massively, you would need to:

  • Purchase a domain name
  • Purchase a hosting
  • Purchase a web template for your website
  • Adapt the web template to your individual needs (Optional)
  • Insert your content to particular web pages
  • Upload your website to the server

In order to complete the above tasks, you will need to gather some technical knowledge first.  There is plenty information available online and you will be pleased to know that none of the above tasks is advanced. All of it can be accomplished by a beginner!

Some tips from my side will be to download a free html editor in order to insert web content into web pages. Also, I strongly recommend you to read a bit about basics of HTML & CSS.

In terms of where you can get your domain name and hosting from, I recommend Fusion Starter package from Web Fusion, which is £3.95 per month (£47.40 a year).

For Cheap and Elegant HTML/CSS templates, have a look at my offer which is a great value for £25. Also, there are many other places online where you can purchase you’re a nice template for your website, so the choice is very big.

Cost summary:
